Two Years Till Sonic 4. What To Expect:

I've been gone for a while, I know! But I'm baaaaack...

Sonic 3. IT WAS AWESOME. Nuff said.

Now onto Sonic 4! (SPOILERS AHEAD)

 I'm gonna keep this short since I'm doing this on a whim and I have a tighter schedule than I did back when I started this blog. But, with March 19, 2027 announced as Sonic 4's release date, there's just as much to look forward to as when Sonic 3 came out!

How big of a deal will Sonic 4 be? Considering Shadow may be slightly more popular than Amy, the answer is yet to be seen. But Metal Sonic is taking the spotlight right alongside her. So... what does that mean for the story? Especially since it seems Eggman is (hopefully, in my opinion) permanently dead?

Well, if you're familiar with a couple other blogposts of mine--particularly about these movies--you know I just LOVE guessing what they'll do in the movies. A lot of the time I guess correctly! (Two movies in a row--I correctly guessed who'd show up in the end credits scene! Yup, I guessed Amy and Metal for Sonic 3's ending--though not together. I wasn't expecting that!) Not trying to brag, of course, but that's my reasoning for my guesses.

Sonic 3 didn't include everything from SA2 that I thought it would. But that leaves some room in Sonic 4 to add those in: "Faker" dialogue (since Shadow LIVES!), out-of-control GUN convoy chase, Rouge coming into play (I'm still guessing she and Amy will have connections and that's how they track down Sonic, since he also has the Master Emerald), etc.

Also, where did the Master Emerald go once everything was over? Sonic and Shadow phased out of their Super forms at different times, in different locations! Could that mean a hunt for the Master Emerald in Sonic 4? Hopefully, but chances are they'll ignore that bit completely and it just respawns with Knuckles.

As for Eggman... I think he's dead. Truly. Jim Carrey was, as far as I know, pretty demanding when it came to his return for Sonic 3. With that pretty solid death scene, I think it's safe to assume he's not coming back. If the character himself is, I'm imagining something like when he returned after issue #50 in Archie-Sonic. Too far-fetched of a guess? Well, we'll just see what good ol' Paramount decides to cook up. (Honestly, we need Ian Flynn's help with more of these movies.)

Speaking of Paramount, they seemed to learn their lesson after the HORRIBLE "Knuckles" series. Sonic fans don't want humans, unless they're Eggman or Snively or Elise or Chris Thorndyke! While Tom and Maddie's presence in Sonic 3 wasn't terrible, the overwhelming amount of Eggmans onscreen at times wasn't great. Nor, in my opinion, was Stone's subtle storyline. While Rachel and Randall weren't legitimately present (the actors were, but the characters were holographic disguises), it was nice to get a follow-up on their Sonic 2 storyline without really having them intrude. Same for Wade, who had PLENTY of screentime during "Knuckles" and so had about three minutes of screentime in Sonic 3 TOTAL.

But as I was saying... EGGMAN! He's gone! So what now?

Never fear... Metal Sonic will be here. This is where the broader guesses come in:

Metal Sonic and Amy debuted into the Sonic canon together in Sonic CD, which leads me to believe a Sonic CD storyline will come in. Dare I go too far and guess that, like Sonic CD, some time travel elements made be lightly included, or else referenced? Because that opens up the perfect door to bring in my favorite boy SILVER in Sonic 5...

But anyway. Sonic CD's storyline has Amy used as bait for Sonic and Metal to fight. Given today's agenda in fiction, that may not happen. But if Eggman's gone, who's going to be the villain in his place? Why, none other than Metal, who in Sonic Heroes usurped Eggman's power for himself to become Neo Metal Sonic, a robotic warlord, and eventually Metal Madness. Which leads me to believe hints of Sonic CD will be cast throughout Sonic 4, but with Metal Sonic now in play, it may have a much stronger Sonic Heroes storyline.

And, of course, I'm hoping for Rouge to enter at some point. If this is a Sonic Heroes storyline, perhaps even Omega or the Chaotix will appear?! It's too early to say. However, I have a good feeling some side characters we love will unexpectedly make appearances. Who knows, maybe even Big will show up at some point! That awesome cat makes his way into just about everything these days....

For the character reveal at the end of Sonic 4? Silver. Or at least Blaze, because where she is, Silver almost always is too.

But specifically, I'm hoping Silver. And if I'm right, I will scream with joy.

Very loudly.

And possibly attract theater security.

I doesn't care. ;D

Sonic Prime's Metal Sonic--WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM?!

A huge thing everyone's excited for in Sonic Prime 's second season is Metal Sonic. We saw him appear at the very end of the trailer for, like, five seconds, and already we can tell there's gonna be some battle between him and Sonic, likely (hopefully!) a Sonic CD -style speed battle. But one thing few people seem to appreciate is Metal Sonic's design. The famous original look made Metal Sonic the most vicious, awesome robotic hedgehog ever, with an evil leer and sharp red eyes. He was truly a robotic menace. But even then, in the Sonic comics and sometimes the games, there is something so emotional about him--you can almost tell what he's thinking. (If you read the Sonic Annual comic that ran during the "Metal Virus" saga, recall the short story about Metal observing a jug of the liquid virus. Sonic Movie 3: What to Hope for, and What to Expect

Last year, I put out a post about what to expect from Sonic Movie 3. But... that was also last year. A lot has changed, and now there's a lot more info in about Sonic 3. But if one thing is certain about Sonic 3, it's that Shadow will be gritty. Sonic will have a tougher time facing his enemies than he did in Sonic 2. And Maria WILL DIE. While I've heard some argue that Sonic 3 won't stick to the letter of SA2 ("Sonic Adventure 2"), I'm hopeful that it does... to a point, of course. SA2 could easily make a great movie in itself. And while Sonic Movie 1 was exactly like NO Sonic game (I think the video game movies of circa 2020 all had very similar "trying to be original and make it like a realistic movie, not a video game" vibes), Sonic 2 had much more distinct callbacks to all of the very first Sonic games and SA1. Given that they got the most famous early games taken care of in that movie, what's to stop them from making several callbacks...
